MOUNT EL PLOMO, 5 424 m
Normal route

Cerro Plomo is located in the Central Andes of Chile near the city of Santiago and it is part of a group of mountains which are known by the same name. Due to its great altitude and large size, it can be seen from great distances. The first time Cerro Plomo was ascended as a sport was in 1985, by Gustavo Brandt and Rodolfo Luck. However, long before, the Incas were the first to climb it. As a sign of this, a sanctuary was found in the heights of this mountain, where ceremonies and sacrifices were carried out. El Plomo is probably the most southern sacred sanctuary of the Inca Empire.

This seven-day program was especially designed for those who do not have experience in the High Mountain and altitude conditions. Without a doubt, the length of this itinerary will aid a proper acclimatization and increase the probabilities of reaching the summit of Plomo.

On the other hand, it is an excellent acclimatization choice for those who expect to climb enormous mountains like Ojos del Salado, Aconcagua or Tupungato.
